  • Public Transport 

Tram, bus, metro and train: the Brussels-Capital Region offers a complete public transport network. By using one or the other, by combining several of them or by adding a bicycle, you can be sure to get to your destination... And often much faster than by car!

The public transport network in Brussels is managed by four different companies:

  • the STIB-MIVB, which runs the Brussels tram, bus and metro network.
  • SNCB-NMBS, whose rail network connects the Brussels stations: no less than 33 stops are served by train in Brussels.
  • De Lijn (the Flemish public transport company) provides connections between Brussels and neighbouring towns and cities in Flanders, with numerous stops throughout Brussels.
  • Finally, the TEC offers connections between Brussels and Wallonia.

  • From Brussels Zaventem airport 

There are different ways to reach the center of Brussels from Brussels Zaventem airport: 

  • By train: this is the fastest and most economical option to get to the center of Brussels. Trains pass through all stations in Brussels and the journey takes about 20 minutes. The train station is on level -1 of the airport.
  • By bus: "De Lijn" buses connect the airport with the center of Brussels and "STIB" buses with the European Parliament district. Travel time is between 30 and 40 minutes.
  • By using a transfer service.
  • By taking a cab.

  • From Brussels South Charleroi airport

There are different ways to reach the center of Brussels from Brussels South Charleroi airport: 

  • By using the shuttle Flibco that connects Brussels South Charleroi airport to Brussels every 30 minutes. The journey time is one hour and the terminus is the Brussels-Midi station.  
  • By train from Charleroi South station (the station is accessible by bus from the airport).
  • By using a transfer service.
  • By taking a cab.
